As the hospitality industry continues to evolve, hotels must ensure that their properties comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The ADA has a comprehensive checklist of requirements for hotels to follow, providing a safe and accessible environment for all guests. Use the list below to stay compliant with the ADA hotel requirements in 2025.

Hotel Room Pathways and Doors
One of the most critical requirements is providing accessible pathways and doors that meet the ADA’s minimum width standards. The entrance to the guestroom should be at least 32 inches wide to allow wheelchair access. All hardware, including locks, handles, and bolts, should be easily usable with one hand.
Additionally, accessible guest rooms must have a clearance of at least three feet on each side of the bed and at the foot of the bed to provide space for wheelchair access. In double rooms, there must be three feet between beds.
