Why would you install emergency door hardware? Rescue hardware is installed to allow a bi-directional door swing in emergencies. Healthcare professionals will benefit from this hardware in cases where a patient becomes trapped behind an inward swinging door. With rescue hardware installed, the center tong depresses, allowing the door to swing in the opposite direction without causing damage to the frame. It's an essential element in patient room restrooms, utility closets, institutions, and convalescent homes.

At Park Avenue Locks we’re bringing you the Stanley's emergency rescue hardware. It is a kit composed of a Stanley Double acting pivot, Emergency Door Stop, and a Double Lipped Strike. We sell these products separately, as well as a complete kit. We've highlighted the functions of each of them below to help you choose the product you need.

The Stanley Double Acting Door Pivot is a Heavy-duty pivot assembly for commercial double acting interior doors of average frequency use, and weighing up to 135 lbs. Made of Brass and malleable iron, its available in five standard finishes. Its Header plate has a walking beam to simplify the door installation, and the bottom bracket is frame-mounted and must be floor supported

The Emergency Door Stop is applied to convert double acting doors to single-acting doors. The emergency release allows the door to swing open in the opposite direction to be able to reach incapacitated patients who fall and block the regular pathway of the door. The stop release resets automatically, featuring a spring action stop, with finger-tip release, using Pullman-type latch bolt with rubber bumper insert.

The Double Lipped Strike allows center-hung doors to be opened in both directions without damage to its frame. It is available in two models; The DLS–1 – for 1/8" (3.2 mm) Inset hung doors, and DLS–2 – for center hung doors.
